2. Starting Out - Learning the Basic

Learning tricks can become very stressful/intimidating as well as time consuming although after awhile of practicing you will eventually locate the feel for riding HxC. I know a lot of people may be saying too their-selves " I can't bunny hop high enough to land a 180! I need help.".. To be honest before beginning to attempt a trick you will need to buildup 'Strength as well as Endurance' also being committed to learning a trick.. never give up! .. and trust me, the ladies will love you in bed after building up that strength/endurance.. you will need to build-up the following:
  • Handlebar Strength - To pull your bars up/back/forward/left/right - lifting weights will help improve your handlebar strength efficiently.
  • Leg Strength - For Balancing tricks such as manuals, grinds, endos, and landing appropriatly. Ride street heavily for awhile then start pedaling up a hill everyday, riding up a hill helps a ton in building leg strength.
  • Stomach Strength( Abs) - This is very useful when your chain breaks and can't be fixxed and also manuevering around the bike for flatland tricks and manuals.. There's a little secret technique called pumping the handlebars you shift your body weight left and right on your arms holding the handlebars which will create inertia for the bike to push off.. pumping with a chain on can help to improve and this is an incredible upper body workout and the ladies will love you :].
  • Endurance - This is real important because you will not want to get too fatigued when performing a trick. If your muscles are stressed/weakened or lungs gasping for a breath of air before executing a trick there's a good chance you will fail at attempting and injure yourself or even worse... split your nut sack off the stem... a good way to build your endurance is riding street a lot.
The best way to start building all of these strengths can be done by the following:
  • Getting Laid - don't be afraid of the girls. They play a vital role in strength building for your whole body. Simply said be charming and have confidence in yourself although be sure to show off your masculinity side. (practice safe sex).
  • Riding Street - riding street is an awesome way to improve your strengths. You will meet other riders and get the feel for imagining the tricks you want to perform inside your head.. keep it simple and pedal real hard. Street is less boring because you're not in the same place all the time and can make riding a better experience.. go on an adventure.. go ahead! just be sure to pedal extra hard!
  • Jogging - Jogging can help your joint movement and will also build every strength you could need.
Ridin is an awesome way for kids who are overweight and looking to loose some weight quickly while having fun at the same time.. Another added bonus is that you can show off your awesome tricks to your friends then they can envy you! and eventually start learning from you!

Paul's Informative Trick Guide

Here I will explain in detail on how-to perform some basic BMX tricks to start you on your way of becoming a HxC Rider.

How To Manual - A manual can be tricky when learning for the first time. I will lay down a numbered list of rules for this trick to be executed.

1. The Positioning of your Feet
The position in which your feet are placed on the pedals plays a vital role to performing the manual.

One of the crank arm's are going to be extended forward and the other is going to be behind the seat post. Whichever crank arm is extended forward you will want to set your foot onto the pedal a little bit behind your toes on the front pad of your foot. On The crank arm which is behind the seat post you will want to set the arch of your foot directly in the middle of the pedal.

Typically, you do not want your feet touching the crank arms, you will need to set your feet away from the crank arms. Setting your foot behind the first pin on the pedal as a guide for keeping your feet away from touching helps.

2. Pulling Your Handle Bars Back
The easiest way to do this is by pushing your body weight forward and then shifting your weight back locking your elbows while holding both of your hands on the grips in a even position keeping an appropriate weight-to-weight distribution balance on the bars pulling your bottom behind the seat like you're trying to touch your bottom against the tire. DO NOT PAY Attention to anything else but the front tire in the air.. if you have a Maxxis Holyroller then listen for that Sexy Tire to start humming .. The whole point of this trick is to keep your balance with your body weight.
